Africa tobacco harm reduction forum is a discussion and networking platform
designed to facilitate exchange of ideas among health practitioners, policy
makers, academics, and consumers from across Africa on the issue of tobacco
harm reduction. There is today an urgent necessity for African countries to get a
better understanding on tobacco harm reduction and its role as a potential
solution for smokers addicted to cigarette smoking. The key objectives of the
forum are:

– To disseminate knowledge from the global public health perspective about
nicotine and tobacco harm reduction and to raise awareness and debate
about the concept of harm reduction.
– Present, discuss, and challenge recent data related to this topic
– To exchange ideas among participants on how best to move forward on the
topics of harm reduction from scientific, public health, regulatory and social
perspectives.
– Provide an environment where regulatory authorities and policy makers may
