==Purpose==
The {{tl|Moved discussion to}} and {{tl|Moved discussion from}} tags are related to {{tl|Resolved}}, but are meant to be placed at the top of sections on [[WP:Talk pages|talk pages]] and other discussions, to indicate when a discussion has been moved elsewhere. It serves as a reminder for editors not to add any more to the discussion, except at its new location, unless strictly necessary.

==Usage==
Place the following under the topic heading on a talk page:

Usually this is the full page name of the old location and should also include the anchor name of the topic as well, if it isn't identical in both places, in the form <code><var>Namespace</var>:<var>Pagename</var>#<var>Topic</var></code>. If it exists, the page name will be auto linked. It is especially optional if a comment retained below the heading makes it clear who did the move and why. If used, it should fit on one line, and the explicit {{para|2}} or {{para|reason}} parameter name is necessary if there are any "=" characters in the message, for example if your raw signature contains the character, which is quite common. Example:

The corresponding {{tlx|Moved discussion to|Talk:Article|2{{=}}<var>Optional message.</var> <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>}} would be placed under the topic heading of the discussion after it is pasted into its new location, usually with the same or a similar message, so that the reasons for the move are clear on both ends.

If the target page is automatically archived and discussion is substantially old, the third parameter may be used to note the date of latest comment in discussion. The contents of this parameter will not be displayed, but it will be the date that archiving bot will parse when determining the age of discussion.
