Adding an external link or other text containing '=', such as:
:<nowiki>{{subst:WikiThanks|[//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:WikiThanks&diff=264678988&oldid=264678893]}}</nowiki>
inside the template causes the template to produce only:
:[[Image:Tournesol.png|43px|left|WikiThanks]] Thank you

One solution is to add "1=" at the start of your message (this won't be shown in the output). For example:

correctly produces:
