A Stanthorpe tobacco shop was destroyed in a fire early this morning.

It was the second suspicious fire at the premises in 48 hours and spread to nearby businesses.

Fire crews have been battling a blaze in a Nerang tobacco store.

The fire broke out in the business on Price St at around 4.30am on Friday with smoke and flames seen coming from the store.

Police are treating a fire at a Beenleigh tobacconist in the early hours of Saturday morning as suspicious, following a string of arson attacks across Brisbane and fears of a growing tobacco turf war.

Emergency crews were called to Uncle Billy’s Tobacconist on City Road in Beenleigh, near Logan, around 4.30am.

They arrived to find the business fully engulfed.
