Description
English: Banner of Scarlat Ghica (ІѠ СКР ГГ ВВ.) as Prince of Wallachia, dated 1758 (АѰНИ in Cyrillic numerals). Depicts the bird of Wallachia alongside the aurochs of Moldavia, which Ghica had ruled upon in the previous year. Image is largely based on reproduction in Dan Cernovodeanu, Știința și arta heraldică în România, p. 431. Bucharest: Editura științifică și enciclopedică, 1977; other details in modern reconstructions, primarily ABCNews.ro photographs.
