DIASMOKE (Assessing the impact of combustion free-nicotine delivery technologies in Diabetic Smokers) is an international, multicenter, open-label randomized controlled study designed to determine wheter T2DM cigarette smokers switching to CF-NDS experience measurable improvement in cardiovascular risk parameters as a consequence of avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke toxicants.

Little is known about the impact of the combustion-free nicotine delivery system on T2DM patients who smoke.

This study aims to test the hypothesis that avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke toxicants may translate to measurable improvement in cardiovascular risk factors and functional parameters when type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients who smoke switch to using C-F NDS compared with T2DM patients who continue to smoke conventional tobacco products.
