This screenshot either does not contain copyright-eligible parts or visuals of copyrighted software, or the author has released it under a free license (which should be indicated beneath this notice), and as such follows the licensing guidelines for screenshots of Wikimedia Commons. You may use it freely according to its particular license. Free software license:
This work is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or any later version. See version 2 and version 3 of the GNU General Public License for more details. |
Note: if the screenshot shows any work that is not a direct result of the program code itself, such as a text or graphics that are not part of the program, the license for that work must be indicated separately.
This license template is a shorthand for {{Free screenshot|license={{GPL}}}}
and used for MediaWiki screenshots, not to be confused with {{Wikimedia-screenshot}}
. Note: this does not categorize the image as a MediaWiki screenshot, so you should probably add a category such as Category:Screenshots of MediaWiki extensions along with this template.

Template parameters
- TemplateData
TemplateData is a way to store information about template parameters (the description of those and of the whole template) for both humans and machines. It is used by VisualEditor and possibly other tools like Upload Wizard.
Existing template documentation
At Wikimedia Commons, it is recommended to use {{TemplateBox}} with either useTemplateData=1
or useTemplateData=only
on the /doc
subpage and transcluding it with {{Documentation}} into the template. <nowiki>
-tags can be wrapped around the arguments, if required, to avoid templates being expanded.
Newly created template documentation and imports
Another option, especially for imported templates, or for users with JSON experience, is placing raw <templatedata>
-tags into the Wikitext of the template, as described in various Wikipediae.
