{{strfind short|target|string}} outputs the position in target where string first appears (e.g. an output of "3" would mean beginning at the third character in target). If string is not found, it outputs zero (0). The word "short" in the title is a relic of the pre-Lua implementation and has no meaning for the current version. This template is a simple wrapper around {{Lua error: Internal error: The interpreter exited with status 1.}}, which may be used directly for more options.
Examples
Use {{#ifexpr}} to concisely determine if this outputs zero, which lets you check if one string contains another. For example, Does "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (film)" contain "on the"?
