Purpose

This template was created for user talk pages, to let a user know that you are watching their page. This is designed to keep conversations from ping-ponging back and forth, but this is simpler than talkback-related templates. Ideally, this is used only on the first message of a conversation that a user leaves for another user, to instruct the receiving user where to reply.

Usage

• {{Watching}} → (I am watching this page, so please reply here.)

Examples

• Typing: What do you think of the article? {{Watching}} ~~~~

will yield: What do you think of the article? (I am watching this page, so please reply here.) Example (talk) 03:59, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
